PA-Delaware County SPCA-bonded sows

Delaware County SPCA has a gorgeous pair of sows named ADOPTED! Sophie and Fluffy. They're small and young, and that's all the specific info the shelter has posted about them so far, but the listing says to check back for more. They're really adorable. The shelter also seems fairly cavy knowledgeable, which is a really good sign. Adopt these dear gals!

NY-Erie County SPCA-many guinea pigs

Doing a recap on well-guinea populated shelter, the Erie County SPCA!

* LISTING REMOVED. Leroy, contrary to the song, is a small fellow. He's a bitty baby.
* LISTING REMOVED. Scrabble is a small young male. It's worth a cosmic triple word score if you adopt him.
* LISTING REMOVED. Eclipse is a small young male. Cuddling him helps blocks out the bad days.
* LISTING REMOVED. 2470214 is a medium sized baby boar. I think he look more like a Roger.

* LISTING REMOVED. 2470236 is a medium sized baby boar. He's the spitting image of a Jackson.
* LISTING REMOVED Greg is a small adult male. I...don't have any jokes about Gregs. He'll be beloved by people who were teens in the 70s?
* LISTING REMOVED. Peter is a small adult male. Though less popular than Greg, he will have a niche following.
* LISTING REMOVED. Dolly is a small baby girl. Say "Hello" to her when you bring her to her forever home!

* LISTING REMOVED. Calvin is a small adult male who has perfect attendance for being lovable.

* LISTING REMOVED. Dennis the non-Menace is a small young male.

* LISTING REMOVED. Marianne is a beautiful small adult sow. Her photo looks like the cover of a Leonard Cohen album.

* LISTING REMOVED. Ronnie is a gorgeous small adult female.

POST DELETED. Bloomingburg, NY: This is an odd and terrible one. The poster is charging for the cages, the piggies are a nice perk. One piggy is a long haired, brown sow who is believed to be pregnant (yeesh), one piggy is a boar with short hair, brown, white, and tan. These come with cage one. I think this might be a start br33ding kit, please stop them from meeting such a terrible fate. Cage two comes with two brown and white piggies, male and female. Being rehomed because of allergies. Siiiiiigh.

LISTING REMOVED. Rochester, NY: two friendly boars up for an ASAP adoption. The poster is willing to sell you a cage on the cheap. Get a C&C cage, your guineas will thank you.

POST EXPIRED. Chambersburg, PA: four guinea pigs being rehomed due to allergies. They can be taken in pairs but it's ideal if they are taken as a quartet. They are friendly, healthy, and have been checked by a vet. Two of them are two and a half years old, the other two are eight months old. If you adopt all four you can received a cage and water bottles. Pictures available on request!

WITH A RESCUE! Somerset, PA: The poster has slowly been lowering the price on these pigs, and now has stooped to "if no one adopts my pigs today, I'm going to take them to the petstore." Good thing rescues don't operate the same way. Girls are seven months old and love attention. One is an abby and one is a short-hair. Horrible.

LISTING REMOVED.
Philadelphia, PA: Poster rescued (or purchased? I can't tell) a texel guinea pig from a livestock auction. Actually a sow and her three babies. Placed the three babies in homes, found out mom was pregnant again (yikes). Five week old PEW boar up for adoption (not an albino, as post claims). Hair will need special grooming. I hope everything rings true here. Adoption fee is too low.

LISTING REMOVED.
Syracuse, NY: repost of two girls. Sweet lovable adults (two years old) need new home. For a small adoption fee, you can provide them with one. They are cuddly and like to be held. Ideal if they can both be adopted together. Come with bedding, toys, food, vitamin C drops, etc. The one of the left looks like a patchwork guinea pig. She's so beautiful. They both are!

LISTING REMOVED.
Buffalo, NY: How cute is this boy?? I love him. I think he's so adorable. I do wonder why he's in a window screen looking like it's his job to hold the house together. Someone adopt him and tell me if he has Atlas-like powers. One year old, comes with all supplies needed for a small adoption fee.

POST DELETED. Ithaca, NY: The cage these two come with is a classic example of when people think by giving height to a cage, they're providing their guinea pigs with more space. A tall cage is only as large as its base. An ideal cage will be long, wide, with maybe a loft, but the wire ramps make this completely undesirable for such groundlings as guinea pigs. Cookie and Orea are four years old, qualifying them for the senior adoption month. Cookie is a brown and white short hair, Orea is a black and white abby. They are sweet boys looking for a forever home. As seniors, they won't be quickly adopted. However, their age makes no difference to the sn@ke.

LISTING EXPIRED. Brooklyn, NY: one of those posts that makes you feel real sad inside. The poster is offering up a black and white guinea pig who is very energetic. She lives in a cage with the poster's rabbit and barbers the rabbit. The poster is rehoming her because the guinea's urine gives her hives. Can deliver. Heed the warning up top.

ADOPTED! Tonawanda (near Buffalo), NY: I fell in love with this guy the first time he was posted on Craigslist, so I'm really glad to see he's not in bad hands. Keep his luck going! Adopt him if you have a loving and suitable home. Dalton is a very lovable boy, and if you adopt him you get his cage (sadly too small, try a C&C) , the stand, pigloo, water bottle, food dish, bedding, and food.

LISTING DELETED. Staten Island, New York: Guinea being dumped on Craigslist because family is moving overseas. If they flew Delta, they could bring the guinea pig with them. This guinea comes with a too small cage, and crap food. I don't think many people consciously decide to deprive their guinea pigs of basic needs, it's just this is what the pet store sells, and many people don't know to distrust the PetStore. The sow is eight months old, very friendly, and beautiful.

LISTING DELETED. Pittsburgh, PA: Go Steelers, screw guinea pigs let's send them to their death. Basically the argument in this ad for two sows (double check the sex). They're friendly, fat (uh oh), and don't bite. They were dumped on the poster's doorstep and he doesn't care what happens to them so long as they're out of his house. Dear sir: I hate you. Can someone save them?

Heads Up

I might not be able to post much today, as I'm going to D.C. to pick up two guinea pigs from a shelter, on behalf of the rescue for which I foster. These girls were found in a box by a dumpster with a "Fr33" sign. They won't show up on Petfinder, Petharbor, or the shelter's website. They are just two out of thousands of invisible and homeless guinea pigs. The ones who I post are a small fraction of those in need. Of those I post only a small fraction will get adopted.

Today feels like a good day to help a homeless animal.

NY-Lollypop Farm in Fairport

I regularly post about the beauty of the Lollypop Guild guinea pigs, but I thought I would best be able to make my point by putting all of them in one thread.

To start, the surely gorgeous and sweet guinea pigs who do not yet have pictures:

LISTING REMOVED. Clover is a two year old brown, tri-color boar.
LISTING REMOVED.
Daisy is a one year old brown, tri-color sow.
LISTING REMOVED. Patches is a two and half year old white sow. Sounds beautiful!

And here are those with photos (just doing it in twos to make it easier, not necessarily a bonded pair):

LISTING REMOVED. Truly is amazing looking. She is one year and seven months old, and incredibly beautiful. Long haired guineas are a bit more demanding, so read up before adopting.

LISTING REMOVED. Lady Brown is also quite the beauty. I imagine she'll get adopted very quickly. Let's just hope it's to a good home. Maybe yours? She's one year and seven months old.

Precious (LISTING REMOVED) and LISTING REMOVED. Carmela: Precious is the one year old white calico girl and Carmela is a two year old white calico. I imagine there's a mistake there. Speaking of, guinea pigs should never be housed on wire floors. I worry about this photo. The girls are so beautiful. And apparently they're classified.

LISTING REMOVED.
Lt. Mitchel is a black tortoiseshell boar who is one year and seven months old. And he has a crest! LISTING REMOVED. Speedie is pictured with Buddie, whose listing was recently removed. I'm not sure why, and I'm also not sure which one is Speedie, but they're both really striking. Speedie is a one year and one month old boar.

LISTING REMOVED. Prince Charming, I would guess from the descriptions, is the boy on the right, and he is one year and one month old, and very distinguished looking.
LISTING REMOVED. Ricky Bobby is the boy on the left, I believe, and he is six months old.

LISTING REMOVED. Rooney doesn't have an age listed, but he is surely a sweetie. He is brown and white and just right for being your new guinea pet. LISTING REMOVED. Patrick is a three year old black and white boar. His bio says that he's a brown tri-color, so double check before falling in love with this cutie!

LISTING REMOVED.
Horatio is three years and two months old. He is primarily black with a white racing stripe down his face. LISTING REMOVED. Echo is a beautiful young abby girl. She is just a little bit over one year old.

LISTING REMOVED.
Pokey is a handsome one year and eight month old orange piggie boy.
LISTING REMOVED.
Piggy is a black and orange crested boar, one year and eight months old.

NY-Life Long Tails-Boar

Life Long Tails has a beautiful young boar available for adoption. Life Long Tails is going through the, from what I've read, hellish process of becoming a 501c (3) tax exempt organization. Lift their spirits. Adopt a guinea pig.

ADOPTED! Rocky Road is such a cutie. This little guy is a five to six month old calico haired guinea. He's very active and loves to eat hay. Rocky Road is a bit shy in his cage, but opens right up once with a caring person. He's a snuggler and lover boy and he's looking for a forever home.

LISTING REMOVED.
Troy, (near Albany) three guinea pigs being dumped. The listing's a hoot, in that "can't cry, so laugh" type way. Poster is selling the cage, which has a big ol' fat picture in the post. And as a side note, three guinea pigs are yours for the sn@ke's taking. No picture--perhaps they would detract from the glamour of the crappy too-small cage. One spayed female and male bonded, other girl goes separately. Friendly, love to be handled, vocal.
