NJ-North Jersey Guinea Pig and Hamster Rescue Inc.-Many Pigs!
North Jersey Guinea Pig and Hamster Rescue Inc., NJ.: Many pigs!
Due to increased time commitments, I am no longer going to be able to update past entries of some of the larger rescues such as Have-A-Heart and NJGPHR. Once a week or so I will update the herd of the respective rescues. So below please find the familiar faces of North Jersey Guinea Pig and Hamster Rescue Inc., as well as the bio of the two new guinea pigs who have just been added sans photo.
Tina & Ushi & Robby & Nicky II & Fernando & Gandolf and Pumpkin & Aragorn & Miranda and Bunny & Max & Lucy & Bobby & Solomon & Furby & Boris & Whitey and Sylvester!
Whitey and Sylvester are new guineas in the rescue. Whitey is two months old and Sylvester is his eleven month old uncle. They are from a petstore missexing. Whitey is "white american with a thin black rim around his eyes." Sylvester is a "silver american crested with a thin black rim around the eyes." They sound so handsome! They must be adopted together.

NY-Craigslist-Two Listings
*If responding to a Craigslist ad meet in a public place, or go with a friend. Google the phone number of the poster to
ensure it matches the name he or she gives *
LISTING REMOVED. Schenectady, NY: Ay yai yai. Poster found pig left out in the cold with other pig. Second pig died a few months ago. Son decided he didn't want to pay any more attention to the remaining pig, who is described as timid (probably suffering from depression and lack of attention). So now Fluff is being dumped with good intentions on Craigslist. Let's hope by miracles of miracles a "good home" actually does reply.
LISTING REMOVED. Kingston, NY: Two bonded 14 week male guinea pigs available for adoption with reasonable rehoming fee. Both pigs are multicolored; one is long har and the other is short hair. They are healthy and friendly and were abandoned by their owner when he moved. Email the poster with questions.
RESCUE EMERGENCY--NEEDS HELP URGENTLY
Judge's Park; Edinburg, PA: contact info: Jennifer at azeem0510 @ yahoo.com
PLEASE HELP--an email I received from a listserve I'm on:
"Hi. I'm sorry to email all of you guys again today, but we need some help. Our finished basement, where all the animals are, just flooded because of the rain and melting snow. All of our rabbit cage bottoms (carpeting remnants, blankets) are ruined. All of our hay is ruined. All of our rabbit toys, boxes, and newspapers are wet and ruined. Luckily we were able to bring everyone upstairs, but a lot of our stuff I don't think we can use anymore. And who knows what else will happen to the rest of their stuff from the water down there. If anyone can help out with extra old blankets, carpets, chew toys, etc., please email me as soon as possible. I probably can get hay tomorrow during the day, so that should be okay, just everything else. We have the fire department here right now pumping out the water, but we have a lot of clean up to do. Thank you everyone for all of your help!"
See this post and this post for more information about adopting from Judge's Park, as well as contributing cash and material donations.
