LISTING REMOVED Hopewell Junction (Hudson Valley), NY: Bonded white guinea pig and brown guinea pig being rehomed, both just under one year of age. Sex not specifed (PREGNANCY WATCH Boy or Girl?). They come with a large bag of food and bedding. I don't understand this part: "THE WHITE ONE CAN NOT MATE..ALBINO GUINEA PIGS CAN NOT MATE!"
GUINEA PIG LESSON: Unless a guinea pig is spayed or neutered, regardless of age or breed, it must be presumed that they can reproduce. They'll sneak up on you after 3 years with 8 pups, and not live through delivery. Also, there are no albino guinea pigs. There are Pink Eyed Whites, known as PEWs. And they can in fact mate. Perhaps this poster is thinking of Lethals, who should not reproduce.
Rochester, NY: Two bonded sisters, 4-5 month old GPs, one a black/white american, the other a black/dark orange abyssinian. "Playful, vocal, and clearly very cute!" Being rehomed due to lack of time. Come with too small cage ( Cheaper, Better Cages) and accessories, and any remaining bedding and food. Want a guinea pig experienced home or one willing to give a lot of out of cage time.
GUINEA PIG LESSON: Carrots are only good as an occasional treat, and are basically equivalent to junk food for guinea pigs. Learn about what to feed your new friend here: Proper Diet . Pellets also shouldn't have colored pieces or corn.
LISTING REMOVED North Ton (Buffalo), NY: 3 y.o. male guinea pig being rehomed due to no longer being compatible with cage mate (cage mate is a younger male, they go through adolescence and can change personalities, doesn't reflect on adoptable pig). Pictures available by request. Adopter needs own cage (Cheaper, Better Cages ).
Binghamton, NY: Baby guinea pig (sex not specified Boy or Girl?) being rehomed due to move.
Many sad accidents or "accidents" can be avoided this way. *
