NY-Craigslist-Manhattan/Bronx/Albany/Hudson Valley/Rochester/Watertown

*If responding to an ad by an individual, meet in a public place
or go with a friend. Google the phone number of the poster to
ensure it matches the name he or she gives *

NO LONGER AVAILABLE Murray Hill (Manhattan), NY: Baby female guinea pig being rehomed due to allergies. Comes with bedding, food, water bottle, food bowl, timothy hay and 2X2.5 C&C cage (needs to be at least a 2x3 for 1 pig, 2x4 for 2 pigs). Poster wants her to go to a home with other girl guinea friends or at least guinea pig experience.

NO LONGER AVAILABLE Bronx, NY: 6-9 month old guinea pig being rehomed. Well socialized to people. GUINEA PIG LESSON: "I bath[e] her once every week and a half," this is unnecessary and scary for the pig. A guinea pig that is in a cage of adequate size being changed regularly should not smell, which is why most people think they need to bathe guinea pigs. They are self cleaning animals. "She's very friendly."

LISTING REMOVED Clifton Park (Albany), NY: Guinea pig girl being rehomed due to dog. She is a cuddler and is well socialized to people. The guinea pig is white and brownish/reddish. She loves apples and timothy hay (A Proper Diet does include apples, unlimited hay, but emphasizes veggies while fruits are just treats).

LISTING REMOVED Beacon (Hudson Valley), NY: Adult male guinea pig named Coco being rehomed due to lack of time. Lavender and ginger long haired with ruby eyes. "Very healthy...great lap pet." The posters will screen and are open to answering any questions.

LISTING REMOVED Syracuse, NY: Three male guinea pigs "rescued...from an auction" now being rehomed because "I would love to keep them, but I can't have all 3, and I really want a rabbit, lol." The poster has been wonderful in seeing them through their health issues, but here's a great link on the economical implications of patronizing auctions, petstores, and br33ders with the mindset of rescuing them.

The guinea pigs are under a year old. The guinea pigs "are very mellow," enjoy to pet, and are purrers. I can't quite follow the descriptions, so here's the quote: "There is a tri-colored curly and a med. hair, and a black and white with a spot of brown long haired. It looks as though they had matts and their hair was cut, so it should come in long."

LISTING REMOVED Leroy (Rochester), NY: Seven year old male living together with a one year old female. "Live together as male is too old to br33d." GUINEA PIG LESSON: The only way to guarantee a guinea pig cannot reproduce is to spay or neuter her or him. Old guinea pigs can certainly reproduce so I'm issuing a PREGNANCY WATCH. Female is chocolate and light brown. Male is white/black/orange. Come with open cage, poster says it's only suitable for a home with no other pets. Also try Cheaper, Larger Cages. Comes with all food and bedding.

NO LONGER AVAILABLE Ft. Drum (Watertown), NY: Two bonded guinea pigs (Boy or Girl? PREGNANCY WATCH) being rehomed because child has lost interest. Come with cage and pigloo for reasonable rehoming fee.

* AAGP recommends quarantining any new guinea pigs
for 2-3 weeks and confirming the sex yourself.
Many sad accidents or "accidents" can be avoided this way. *
