PA-CompAnimals-Boar

CompAnimals; Landenberg, PA: ADOPTED! Coley! Let's hope that cage is a photo of the cage Coley came in with--I hope he's lounging around in larger circumstances now! Coley is five to six months old, and charcoal colored. He is pretty shy because he is not used to handling. His bio says that because of his age that he might still come around, but my sweetest pig was three and half years old before she was held daily, and now she is a lap hog--pigs can "come around" at any age :) Coley (I love that name) wants a piggy friend, and is a vocal boy.

PA-Adams County SPCA-Boar and (BOAR)

Adams County SPCA, Gettysburg, PA: Tobe and Gardenia !

Tobe or not, no, stick with it, Tobe! Poor Tobe is a scared boy at the shelter. He was surrendered by his owner, so he really is feeling down on his luck right now. His bio puts it pretty it well: "Once I settle in to my new home, with a little love and affection I should stop being soo scared. I would love a new place where I can get out of the cage and stretch my legs and exercise a little bit. Wow, that sure would be fun!!! Stop on by and say 'Hi', hope to see you soon!"

ADOPTED! Scroll down on the exotics page for Gardenia and her sad story. She was found outside in a box by a church; a gentleman brought her to the shelter before she froze to death. She is such a lovely guinea lady. Gardenia's understandably feeling a bit down on her luck as well! She and Tobe both need some TLC in their forever homes. NOW A BOAR-GIZMO

LISTING REMOVED. Hunterdon County, NJ: Two one year old piggie girls available for adoption. One is an abby girl, with an orange, brown, black and white coat, the other is a soft short hair with white and brownish gray fur. They are bonded and come with their cage, water bottle, and food. Email the poster for more information.

ADOPTED! (Congrats to the special lady who adopted her :) Cherry Hill, NJ: Sounds like a himi available for adoption. Three year old sow named Pinky, white with brown feet, ears, and nose. Has pinkish red eyes. She is friendly, doesn't bite, and is used to being held and is friendly with other guinea pigs. She comes with her cage, feeder, water bottle, pigloo, remaining food and bedding. She is a lovely pet who is only being given up because of allergies. Email or call for more information. She sounds like a very sweet sow who would make a nice friend for an elderly neutered boar or sow you have at home.

LISTING REMOVED. Browns Mills, NJ: Eight month old guinea pig sow, brown and black, being rehomed because a son got bored with the guinea pig so now the guinea pig has to suffer. Classic petstore purchase turn to CL dump. Comes with supplies, cage, food, hay, water bottle, food bowl, etc. for a small adoption fee. "There is nothing wrong with her." Seems more like a car than a living being.

LISTING REMOVED. Deptford, NJ: GP, sex not specified, being rehomed for fr33 on CL so it won't be killed at a shelter, though depending on the shelter it would probably have better odds there. Comes with cage, pigloo, food, vitamins, water bottle. Previous owner was allergic to the pig, so poster's husband brought the pig home and she didn't care for the poor piggy. GP is friendly and doesn't bite. Call poster for more information.

LISTING REMOVED. Albion, near Rochester, NY: Eight month old sow being rehomed for small adoption fee. Socialized to children, described as a lovable sweetie who is good with children.

LISTING REMOVED. North Buffalo, NY: Repost of an absolutely adorable guinea pig who I fell in love with the first time he was posted too. One year old abby boar who comes with all supplies.

LISTING REMOVED. East Nassau, near Albany, NY: Get ready for some adorability. Two pigs must be rehomed as a pair. Have had a rough time of it. It seems the poster got them three weeks ago from someone on CL, and the pigs are too scared of her kids (it's a huge myth that guinea pigs, one of the most skittish animals on the planet, are the perfect pets for kids, well intentioned monsters with sticky, fast moving jam hands), so the pigs have to go. They are male and female, so she assumes the female will be pregnant (kind of nonchalantly, it's weird, that's a huge deal--better find an exotic vet ASAP if you're going to take up this pair). Come with lots of supplies for a reasonable rehoming fee.

LISTING REMOVED. Troy (near Albany), NY: Rescued girls being dumped on CL, it appears. The mind boggles with contradictions. Two peruvians, one has lone beautiful black hair, one has long beautiful tri-color hair (I'm guessing blue, red and orange). They're very bonded sisters and are a year old. An adoption fee will be discussed. They are very sweet and friendly, and hopefully I am being too harsh on the poster and the adopter will be well screened.

LISTING REMOVED Castleton (near Albany), NY: Two female pigs available for adoption with fee. About one year old and familiar with kids. Adoption fee includes cage, bedding, water bottle, food dish, carrier, and a leash which can promptly be thrown out or used for some creative purpose. Contact poster for more information.

LISTING REMOVED. Philadelphia, PA: Two one year old male pigs available for adoption. One is a white abby, the other is black with a white spot on his head (cute). Come with cage and all accessories. Contact poster for more information.

LISTING REMOVED. Lower Burrell, near Pittsburgh, PA: Two male guinea pigs, tame, socialized to people, and young. Must pick up from home. Included with all hay, treats and food. Troublesomely, the cage is not included. I suppose the next pet they're going to give up gets to live there?

The ADOPTED! Animal Rescue League of Berks County has a playful one year old sow available for adoption. Her name is Hammy, and she is a gorgeous black and white girl with sleek fur. The old fwi: her eyes may not be red, actually, healthy black guinea pig eyes often reflect as red at certain angles when taken with a flash.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Starting Dec. 30th I will be taking a vacation for several weeks. In my absence Mr. AAGP will be taking over, so if the AAGP posts suddenly seem more charming and handsome, that's why.

Because Mr. AAGP has much more of a life than I do, and is doing this for me as a favor, the posts will be much briefer than normal, and updated less frequently.

Please count on pigs in urgent cases to continue to be posted, but if there is a rescue piggie who will be fine, and snug in their foster home for the few weeks until I get back, Mr. AAGP may leave that pig for me.

Mr. AAGP's posts will be signed as AAGP2.

LISTING REMOVED. Watertown, NY: Guinea pig being given up because, well, I'm not sure. He was a replacement for a guinea pig who passed away and, well, now he's on CL. Comes with cage, food (?), water bottle, and dangerous wheel that he no longer fits into. A good rehoming fee.

LISTING REMOVED. NY, NY: "From one warm and loving family to another" says the ad. Alas, not much information at all. The pig's name is Buddy.

LISTING REMOVED. NY, NY: This ad really frustrates me. I hate this person. Cage comes with guinea pig. Reasonable price (seems more for the cage than the pig).

LISTING REMOVED. Washingtonville, NY: Guinea pig being rehomed because of allergies. Hay, food, cage, water bottle.

LISTING REMOVED. Selden, NY: Pardon my lack of eloquence--stupid awful pet stores, how I hate you. Pet store mis-sexing, lots of babies, not a great rehoming fee, but not awful. Please get them good homes.

LISTING REMOVED. Wayne, NJ: Guinea pig named Peanut saved from neglected home, but is being put on CL for an ok rehoming fee. Poor fellow.

LISTING REMOVED. York (Red Lion), PA: A really sweet girl who has had a tough life. I really feel bad for her. The endorsement "They have a low odor and are easily handled by small children" is sad and misleading (not the odor part).
