LISTING REMOVED. North New Jersey: Um, I kind of love this pig, so if someone winds up adopting her and sees this, can they please let me know and even send a phot-o, if possible? Thankya! She's 1 1/2 years old, and comes with her cage, carrying case, feed, and water bottle for a small rehoming fee. Being rehomed due to move. Guinea girl needs some new food; any food with colored pieces or corn in it isn't suitable for our dear guinea friends. Try Oxbow or Kleenmama's.

GUINEA PIG LESSON on TRANSPORTATION: When transporting your happy new pig from their old home to their new, forever home, a soft carrier like the one pictured isn't the best for a car. Knock on wood, should there be an accident, hard plastic carriers (like those used for cats and dogs) lined with towels for softness offer more security for the pig, assuming they are buckled in. Other tips: give your guinea some hay to make the ride more comfortable, and some water rich vegetables like romaine lettuce. Never hang a water bottle in the carrier because with the bumps in the road the water bottle might leak, and if the guinea is surrounded by wet towels they might catch a URI. Plus you might think your guinea is getting water to drink when it's not the case. Best to bring a water bottle separately and give your new guinea friend water during a driving break.

LISTING REMOVED. South Jersey: Guinea pig, sex and age not specified, comes with cage, toys, "little home," and an exercise ball, these can be fatal for guinea pigs as they can break their spines and bones in their feet.

LISTING REMOVED. Browns Mills, NJ: Male guinea pig that is less than one year old being rehomed.

NJ/NY-GuineaLynx-Two males, one female (need fosters or adopters)

WITH A RESCUE(R)! Northern NJ, NYC Area: Poster received word that some guinea pigs had been abandoned outside in Queens, and saved three baby guinea pigs in an open field where birds and a cat were nearby. All three guinea pigs (two males, one female) are being quarantined, but no one is altered.

The first, larger boy is an abby, and is white with a black face. The second boy is quite small but very vocal, and is a tortie abby/ texel mix (though it's hard to make a completely accurate guess, as his hair is at the baby stages, and his coat is still recuperating from being outside). The only female is a tortie-mostly-black abby.

Everyone is thin with "war wounds on their ears," but the poster says they are "doing very well generally, healthy, happy, and even popcorning, wheeking, and burbling."

I would double check about the fostering--whether that meant you'd be fostering for the poster, or if you already work with a rescue and have an available foster spot open. Angel work folks!

NJ-GuineaLynx-Young black and white abby boar

WITH A RESCUE(R)! Bloomfield, NJ: A guinea guy was owner-surrendered to a vet and now needs a home. The owner asked the vet to euthanize the pig because he was suffering from severe mites, and this wonderful vet decided to keep and treat the piggy guy instead. The pig is now in tip top shape and ready for a forever home. He is a black and white abby under a year old. For contact information for the vet, and more information on how to adopt the pig, please click on the link.

LISTING REMOVED. Inwood/Washington Hts, NY: Young male guinea pig available for adoption, comes with cage, water bottle, bowl and food.

LISTING REMOVED. Ontario, NY: Two female guinea pigs being rehomed due to too many pets. Must be adopted together. For additional fee they come with one of the larger Marchioro cages and all their things. They're used to kids and being handled, but they are nibblers--might be good for an adults only home, or one with only older children. A younger male is also being rehomed, though without a cage. This suggests a PREGNANCY WATCH.

New Ringgold, PA: Elvis is a white/orange piggie who was rescued from a herd at a farm (I get so sad when I hear about things like this). He lost his cagemate somewhat recently, and so the poor guy is all alone. He comes with a 2X2 cage (which will be great for quarantining, but 2X3 is best for a single pig, and 2X4 is the minimum for two pigs), his water bottle, and any food or hay the owner has left. He is a very sweet piggie who never bites, and loves his carrots.

LISTING REMOVED. Utica, NY: Two six month females (one white, one cinnamon in female), one four month old male (calico). Sweet, friendly, and shy as typical to guinea pigs. Male is most outgoing of the three. If they have been housed together, do a pregnancy watch.

LISTING REMOVED. Hudson Valley, NY: Unsexed guinea pig (Boy or Girl?) is friendly, gentle, and loves to be handfed. Two years old. Reasonable rehoming fee, comes with her cage, water bottle, hidey home, and extra food. Email with any questions.

LISTING REMOVED. Long Island, NY: GUINEA PIG LESSON: GUINEA PIGS ARE NOT GOOD CLASSROOM PETS! Who pays the vet bills? What about the kids with allergies? Where does the pig go on the weekends? This misconception is out like wedge heels. On to the pigs. Male is one year old. Female is one and a half years old. Both are socialized to people after being rescued from tragic situations by the poster, who rehabilitated them and spoiled them like they deserve. The pigs are sweet and have great personalities. Email for more information.

LISTING REMOVED. Long Island, NY: Two year old black guinea pig being rehomed. Very friendly, loves people, dogs and cats. Has been with current owner since two months of age. Comes with cage, water bottle, food and hay all for small rehoming fee.

LISTING REMOVED. Syracuse, NY: Four month old very cute, friendly guinea pig comes with cage, water bottle, food plate, toys, food, and some bedding. GUINEA PIG LESSON: Albinos are incredibly rare. A white guinea pig with pink eyes is actually quite common, and known as a "Pink-Eyed-White" or PEW.

LISTING REMOVED. Penfield (near Rochester), NY: PREGNANCY ALERT. Three guinea pigs being rehomed, no sex specified, all under a year old. Need to be rehomed urgently due to allergies. They come with one cage that according to the poster they all fit in (you may need this link: Cheaper, Larger Cages), two water bottles (should have one for each pig), one pigloo (sh0uld have one for each pig), one pound of food, 3/4ths of a bag of bedding, one ball (if this is an exercise ball, they are potentially fatal=can break spine and bones in feet).

LISTING REMOVED. Mt. Hope (near Rochester), NY: An example of why not to give guinea pigs as a gift: "My boyfriend got me 2 guinea pigs for Valentine's Day, and while I love them dearly, I cannot keep them any longer. My allergies are out of control. They do not get the love they deserve because holding them or even being in the same room as them makes me feel terrible." Two three month old tricolor abbys (punky hair), one has one black leg, the other has blue eyes. They are both very beautiful and very bonded. For a reasonable rehoming fee they come with their litter box, Carefresh litter, food, food bowls, pigloo, water bottle with holder, various toys and treats, and a C&C cage. This person did it right folks--this is a great starter set-up. The present owner does not want a child to be the primary care giver.
