NJ-Have-A-Heart Guinea Pig Rescue-new sow

NOTE: DUE TO TIME CONSTRAINTS AND THE LARGE NUMBER OF HAVE A HEART GUINEA PIGS, HAH ENTRIES WILL NO LONGER BE RETROACTIVELY UPDATED. MY APOLOGIES FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE THIS CAUSES. THE HAH WEBSITE WILL OFFER THE MOST UP TO DATE INFORMATION.

A new NJ Have-A-Heart Guinea pig has been added to the ranks! Below Possom I've featured three listings of pigs who have been with the rescue for a while. And below that I'm listing all the NJ Have-A-Heart pigs available for adoption.

LISTING REMOVED. Possom is a new girl to the rescue, and will not be available for adoption until early February, as she is on pregnancy watch. Poor Possom has had a rough time of it. She was found outside in a park, suffering from severe mites. The dear girl is all healed up now, and working on growing back all her fur. She is a brown agouti, rust and white Abby who is used to being around cats and dogs.

LISTING REMOVED. Liz and Frieda are a beautiful pair of bonded girls. The girls joined the rescue in mid-June because their owner could no longer care for them. These four year olds are used to being around dogs and cats.

Liz is the all black American girl, and Frieda is the rust and white American. And they're both beautiful!

Toby and Felix are two bonded boars who have been in the rescue since mid-June of 2007. The boys are about four years old, and they're used to being around dogs and cats.

Toby is a cute brown agouti and white American, and Felix is a lilac, rust and white American with beautiful ruby eyes. And, like Dorothy, he's looking for the way home. Can't adopt them? Considering making a donation toward their neuters.

Squeak and Mouser are two bonded boys who have been in the rescue since mid-June of 2007. They had been in turned in to the local animal shelter because they were no longer wanted. The piggie boys are used to being around kids, dogs, and cats.

Squeek is the cute silver and white American boy, who is now seven months old. Mouser is seven months old as well, and he's the adorable brown agouti and white American. If you can't adopt this adorable duo, a donation in any amount could help fund their neuters.

NY-Lollypop Farm in Fairport-Boar

Lollypop Guild has a new member--maybe? LISTING REMOVED. Clover is also the name of a guinea pig who was there a bit ago, who had a similar description. Well, this Clover is a two years and one month old tri-color boar. His primary color is brown, and knowing this shelter he will be adorable.

NY-Craigslist-two girls

* If responding to a Craigslist ad meet in a public place, or go with a friend. Google the phone number of the poster to
ensure it matches the name he or she gives *

LISTING REMOVED. Bloomingburg, NY: Mom and daughter guinea pigs being rehomed due to allergies. I wonder if this is the first of the Christmas rehomings. Reasonable rehoming fee includes cage, food, vitamins, hay, bedding, water bottles, food bowls. Girls described as lovable (but not loved, apparently).

PA-Piggie Lovers Inc. Guinea Pig Rescue-four new pigs!

Piggie Lovers Inc. Guinea Pig Rescue has four new piggies, which is cause enough for celebration, let alone all this New Year business.

ADOPTED! Fudolou and Fudzmo are two adorable bonded short hair brother. Fudolou (amazing name) is the older brother of the two, and they are both around four to six months old. He is the blonder of the two boys, though they are both blonde, white and brown cavies.

Fudolou and Fudzmo are both dear vocal boys who love attention, and will crawl up to the side of the cage to make sure you notice them. Fudzmo is one of those amazing pigs who climbs up on top of the pigloo for a better view.

These boys get along great with other piggie boys, so if you have a lonely boar at home, consider this bonded pair! Or you can start a herd yourself with Fuolou and Fudzmo.

ADOPTED! Gabriella and Gertrude are two chubby, friendly and healthy bonded adult sows. These girls love to eat, wheek, and get attention.

The poor girls came to the rescue after they were dropped off at a person's house in a box. They are now living it up in a C&C cage, which they share with other gals. The two girls get along great with other piggies, and are fond of people as well.

Gabriella (Gabby) is the black, white and blonde short hair, and Gertrude is the dark blonde and white short hair. They are both absolutely beautiful!

PA-Pike County Humane Society Inc.

Pike County Humane Society Inc. in Milford, Pennsylvania, has a number of guinea pigs available for adoption. I'm not crazy about their bio, so I'll just tell you that there are boys and girls in all different colors, and refer you to the links at the bottom and on the sidebar. And don't forget, guineas are social creatures and need a friend!

POST DELETED. Manayunk, PA: Well this sounds like a crappy situation. The roommate moved out and left her guinea pig (why couldn't it have been jewelery, electronics, a hot boy who was flawed in some dangerously attractive way?), who was just bought in July (of 2007). Poor boy. Now the other roommate is left to rehome him. he comes with a cage, hay bin, and pigloo, and is "friendly and does not bite." Contact the poster for more information.

LISTING REMOVED. Pittsburgh, PA: Two bonded boars (get along well) are being rehomed for a small adoption fee. They are just over a year old and are both good natured. One is a bit more nervous about being held, but at just one year + old, there's plenty of time to soothe this boy. They come with all of their supplies, which include a cage, carrier, food and treats. Don't forget the hay!

NJ-North Jersey Guinea Pig Rescue-Silver and Gold piggies

Due to increased time commitments, I am no longer going to be able to update past entries of some of the larger rescues such as Have-A-Heart and NJGPHR. Once a week or so I will update the herd of the respective rescues.

Hey, North Jersey Guinea Pig Rescue has two new pigs! And to celebrate, I'm going to post two of the pigs who have been with them for a while as well. Below the entry is the full list of NJGPR pigs.

ADOPTED! Cocoa is a new pig with NJGPR, and so her picture isn't up yet. She is described, however, as "a pretty one year old dark brown and orange American." Poor Cocoa was given up because her owner moved into an apartment where she can't have pets. Cocoa can be adopted as a friend for the lonely female piggie you may have at home, or she can be adopted with a friend in the rescue.

NickyII is my boar for the day! He is a striking chocolate agouti and white American piggie. Nicky II wound up at the rescue because his family didn't have time for him. Poor boy! The rescue describes him active, but gentle and friendly. They say he can adopted alone or as a friend for a male piggie. He sounds so sweet though! It seems like he'd make an excellent friend for a lonely boar.

ADOPTED! Patty is another one year old piggie. She is a very sweet white American crested piggie girl with beige spots. It sounds like she was given up by the same person as Cocoa, or at least another person moving in to an apartment that does not allow pets. Like Cocoa, she can be paired with a piggie girl who you may already have at home, or a piggie friend she's made in the rescue.

Tina is a beautiful three year old American crested piggie girl. Tina, as well as her mother and four sisters, were given up by a man who had personal difficulties which prevents him from continuing to care for the pigs. Tina is one of those dominant piggies, so she would be paired best with a baby piggie girl.

ensure it matches the name he or she gives *

ADOPTED! Philadelphia, PA: Not much info here. Small rehoming fee for three girls, not specified whether they must got together or can be separated. The blonde pig and the tri-color pig are five months old, and the golden crested piggie is three months old.

LISTING REMOVED. Lakewood, NJ: Hopefully these guinea pigs are safe right now, either with a respondent or with the poster. I doubt it. Their bedding looks questionable, only one water bottle, no hay, pellet feed is crap. Oh and the adoption fee is too low. Ugh. They come with their cage, pigloo, toy, water bottle and bowl. Guy's thumb not included.

PA-Have-A-Heart Guinea Pig Rescue

NOTE: DUE TO TIME CONSTRAINTS AND THE LARGE NUMBER OF HAVE A HEART GUINEA PIGS, HAH ENTRIES WILL NO LONGER BE RETROACTIVELY UPDATED. MY APOLOGIES FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE THIS CAUSES. THE HAH WEBSITE WILL OFFER THE MOST UP TO DATE INFORMATION.

Pennsylvania is not to be out done! Here is a new PA Have-A-Heart piggie, as well as three pigs who have been waiting for homes for quite a while.

Willow is a young black and blonde Abby girl who is used to being around cats and dogs. She won't be available until Valentine's Day of 2008 because she's on pregnancy watch. Adopting her would be such a gift of love all around! This sentence from her bio makes me so sad " Willow came into the rescue on 12/19/07 when her owners no longer wanted her." If you think you'd like to adopter her but have an intact male at home, why not consider donating toward her spay?

Buster and Benji--these poor boys! They were adopted and then returned to the rescue in mid-November of 2007. Their adopter "didn't feel they warmed up to her quick enough." Guinea pigs aren't creatures that quickly bond to their person, like dogs or cats. Generally they bond to other guineas, and at best will tolerate you giving them chinnies. 75% of the time they think you're a giant bird who tried to cut their nails. Seriously, you love them, and hope they gush on you back, but don't expect it.

Plus their first two weeks they're petrified. Anyway, the two boys must be adopted together. They are very good guinea pigs who are about a year and a half old. Benji is the tri-color abby, and Buster is a black and white American. Can't adopt? Why not donate toward their neuters?

Charlie and Johnnie are two bonded, neutered boys who are extremely sweet. Charlie is the more dominant of the two, and he loves rearranging the cage to his exact specifications. Johnnie is a more a go with the flow type boy. Sounds like a great pairing of pig personalities.

These poor guys will have been in the rescue a year on the 29th, to no fault of their own. They were given up because their child decided he didn't want them anymore. Don't give your kids pets who live longer than their attention spans. Charlie and Johnnie are used to being around kids, dogs and cats. Charlie is two years and nine months old, and is the black and white American. Johnnie is the rust and white American who is four years and two months old.

Turbo is such a cute boy! I cropped his photo because he's on the counter next to an oven, and that just made me feel weird inside. But I would bet Turbo's a pretty calm guy if he's willing to pose there! He is a young boy who has been in the rescue since mid-May of this year. He is a cutie-pie brown agouti, rust and white American, and has become used to dogs and cats since entering the rescue. If you can't adopt Turbo, why not consider donating toward his neuter?
