POST EXPIRED. New Jersey: three guinea pigs need a new home, as their current family feels they don't give them enough attention. They are tan and white; black and white; and black, tan and white. They come with a large cage, water bottle (get two more!), and some food. This sounds like a nice way to start caring for guinea pigs. A preestablished herd is more entertaining and more self-sustaining in terms of needing attention. Caring for three isn't much more work than caring for two. Responsibly, they are asking for a small adoption fee. They don't list the sexes, so you'll want to determine that ASAP, and determine if you need a pregnancy watch. And post here if you've adopted them!

New New Jersey Have-a-Heart piggies! They're without pictures as of now, so I'm also going to feature three pigs with photos after the newbies.

BeeBee is a cute young boar who was given up because of allergies. He is eight months old and is a rust and white abby. He is used to being around dogs and cats.

ADOPTED! Coconut is an eight month old boar who was given up because of allergies. He is used to being around kids, dogs and cats. He is a rust and black abby.

Aden and Bane are a bonded pair who were returned to the rescue because of allergies after they thought they'd found their forever home. They are two years old and ten months. Aden is a black and white abby, and Bane is a cute tri-color American. They are used to being around kids, dogs, and cats.

Levi has been in the rescue since late September. He is a cute black, white and blonde American. Levi is five months old and used to kids, dogs, and cats.

Now on to our pigs with pictures! The theme of this post is "the Sow Power Hour."

ADOPTED! Meso is a gorgeous piggie, if I've ever seen one. She is a year and one month old, and came to the rescue in poor shape, as she had been kept outside. It is never suitable to house guinea pigs outside. Now Meso is doing much better, and is used to kids, dogs, and cats.


LISTING REMOVED--> Snickers and Skittles are two beautiful bonded sows. These rust abbys came to the rescue in August, and are used to dogs and cats. They are adults.


Maxine and Juliet are neat looking bonded sows. They were brought to the rescue in late September because their owners were moving. They are used to kids, dogs, and cats. This mother and daughter pair is two years old and one year old, plus some change, respectively. Maxine is a tri-color crested girl, and Juliet is a tri-color American.

POST DELETED. Lowville (near Watertown), NY: Two sows, a bonded daughter and mother of unknown age, need a new home. The poster keeps them outside because when they're inside her dog tries to eat them. Keeping guinea pigs outside is unacceptable. These pigs need rescuing. Know your limits.

NJ-North Jersey Guinea Pig and Hamster Rescue

Due to increased time commitments, I am no longer going to be able to update past entries of some of the larger rescues such as Have-A-Heart and NJGPHR. Once a week or so I will update the herd of the respective rescues.

Time to feature more North Jersey Guinea Pig and Hamster Rescue piggies!

ADOPTED! Xander is a new piggy who doesn't yet have a photo up. He was abandoned at the local shelter, and on November 17th the rescue picked him up. He is a handsome one year old agouti American boy. I will update when his picture is posted, but beat me to it and adopt him!

Ushi is a cutie. His name is Japanese for cow. He is six months old and adorable. He hopes to be adopted with his friend Avery, who I featured previously. Two adorable boys already bonded? Sounds like a good arrangement.



ADOPTED! Spanky is a large bouncing baby boy. He is six weeks old and was surrendered to the rescue because his owners were allergic to him. He hopes to be adopted with his friend Nicky, who I actually don't see on the petlist...do some snooping if you're crazy about this guy.



I think it's more than the soft 70s photo quality that makes ADOPTED! Miranda beautiful. She is one of the prettiest pigs on Petfinder, in my opinion. She is an eight month old who has been in the rescue since late September, and came to the rescue from a city shelter. And this dear girl is expecting! She will be ready for adoption after her delivery and the babies grow a bit older. The rescue anticipates she'll be available for adoption Dec. 1st, but that date is subject to change. She is compatible with other pigs.

Acton for Animals Humane Society has yet another adorable piggie available for adoption.

More Life Long Tails Piggies!

I've previously featured ADOPTED! Michael and Myers, but they are finally available for adoption! If this world had its priorities straight, people would be lining up at 4 AM and getting in fist fights to be their adopters tomorrow. They're an abby father and son team. Michael is the pop and a year old, Myers is the son and 4-5 months old. They arrived in the rescue in a very poor state, dirty with horribly overgrown nails and lice. This condition could have been so easily prevented. They weren't immediately available for adoption because they had to get all fixed up, and now these cuties are ready to be taken home with you. Michael is a mellow boar, and Myers is a vocal bouncer.

ADOPTED! Lona and Gracie are two sows in foster care. Lona is a black and white abby who is about 9-10 months old. Gracie is 6-7 months old and a Peruvian/Silkie. They are both gorgeous! Shockingly so. Lona is a bit skittish but coming along. She loves veggies and will eat straight from the hand. Gracie's hair needs regular care to keep it smooth and beautiful. She was delivered to the rescue in very poor condition, but they've cleaned her up-and how! Gracie was mistreated by the kids of her former family, so she was also a bit skittish upon arrival. Lona's picture is the first one, and she is the piggy on the left.

She is a five month old girl who is not getting enough attention in her home. The poster is worried she will get lonely. Her reasonable adoption fee includes her cage, water bottle, half a bag of bedding, some pellets and hay, and a number of things on the guinea no list. She is a sweetie sow, by the looks of her.
