NY-Life Long Tails-Long Haired Sow

Life Long Tails; Cheektowaga, NY: ADOPTED! Pumpkin!

Pumpkin is beeootiful! She's a silkie and texel guinea pig mix. She's vocal and friendly, but that fur of her does require some maintenance, detailed at her petfinder site. She's about a year and a half old. She's in the group of eight other guinea pigs who were rehomed due to allergies, and hopes to be adopted with one or more of her piggie peers--April, May, Summer, June, Abby, Zoey, Lona and Gracie.

LISTING REMOVED Perkiomenvile (near Philadelphia), PA: Iffy about this ad. It's hard to tell the difference between rescuing from a livestock auction and patronizing a livestock auction. Read the link below titled "social cause marketing" to learn more about what I'm struggling with. Two guinea girls, one is a young baby black female, the other two to three months old and is a red and white satin (shiny coat, prone to health problems=another argument against br33ding).

PA-Companion Animal Rescue Elite Services-Four baby pigs

Companion Animal Rescue Elite Services; Ephrata, PA: ADOPTED! Abercrombie, ADOPTED! Calvin and Klein, and ADOPTED! Holliseter!

GUINEA PIG SUGGESTION
: If you work with a rescue or shelter and rarely receive guinea pigs, or receive guinea pigs that you are unsure of their sex, or have a health question, register with GuineaLynx and ask if there is a member in the area who can help you. Or even if your question can be answered online! (You can do this even if you don't work with a shelter or rescue, and are an adopter with a few (or a lot) or questions!) I say this because:

GUINEA PIG LESSON: Male guinea pigs are sexually mature at three weeks, and female guinea pigs are mature at four weeks. These four pigs have been housed together at the age of six weeks, so if it is in any way a co-ed group a pregnancy watch should be done. That's why a GuineaLynx member is heading over to separate the piggies by sex!

On to the piggies!

Abercrombie is the shyest of the four piggies, but he is still sweet and does not mind being held.

Calvin and Klein are very sweet and also do not mind being held, and are the most outgoing of the four. They are a pair of bonded boys!

Holliseter is sweet as well, does not mind being held, and I imagine is average on the scale of outgoingness.

LISTING REMOVED Brownsville (near Pittsburgh), PA: One year old female pig being rehomed because of a kitty and kiddy who are just too interested. Smart move on the poster to rehome the pig then, I think. The pig comes with cage, pigloo, water bottle, feed dish, pellets, and timothy hay. Reply to ad for more information.

LISTING REMOVED. Schenectady, NY: Ay yai yai. Poster found pig left out in the cold with other pig. Second pig died a few months ago. Son decided he didn't want to pay any more attention to the remaining pig, who is described as timid (probably suffering from depression and lack of attention). So now Fluff is being dumped with good intentions on Craigslist. Let's hope by miracles of miracles a "good home" actually does reply.

LISTING REMOVED. Kingston, NY: Two bonded 14 week male guinea pigs available for adoption with reasonable rehoming fee. Both pigs are multicolored; one is long har and the other is short hair. They are healthy and friendly and were abandoned by their owner when he moved. Email the poster with questions.

RESCUE EMERGENCY--NEEDS HELP URGENTLY

Judge's Park; Edinburg, PA: contact info: Jennifer at azeem0510 @ yahoo.com

PLEASE HELP--an email I received from a listserve I'm on:

"Hi. I'm sorry to email all of you guys again today, but we need some help. Our finished basement, where all the animals are, just flooded because of the rain and melting snow. All of our rabbit cage bottoms (carpeting remnants, blankets) are ruined. All of our hay is ruined. All of our rabbit toys, boxes, and newspapers are wet and ruined. Luckily we were able to bring everyone upstairs, but a lot of our stuff I don't think we can use anymore. And who knows what else will happen to the rest of their stuff from the water down there. If anyone can help out with extra old blankets, carpets, chew toys, etc., please email me as soon as possible. I probably can get hay tomorrow during the day, so that should be okay, just everything else. We have the fire department here right now pumping out the water, but we have a lot of clean up to do. Thank you everyone for all of your help!"

See this post and this post for more information about adopting from Judge's Park, as well as contributing cash and material donations.

PA-The Center for Animal Health and Welfare-young boar

The Center for Animal Health and Welfare; Easton, PA: LISTING REMOVED. Skittle!

Well wow. I hope that's how Skittle was dropped off, and not his present conditions. He is one year old, and very nice. If these are his present conditions, I'm going to be very worried.
