LISTING REMOVED Rochester, NY: Two year old guinea pig being rehomed, "not a biter a little shy." Surely this adorable pig will open up in his/her forever home. Speaking of pronouns, (Boy or Girl? ).

LISTING REMOVED Poughkeepsie, NY: Rehoming two family guinea pigs (and in a move that I think severely limits qualified homes) only to families with young children. Errr... :( That's actually the exact opposite of what most shelters and rescues would look for. It's rare (and valuable and rewarding) to find young children who have the responsibility, hand size, patience, attention span, and devotion, to care for guinea pigs for 5-7 years, even up to ten or more. To make it a condition of adoption is to do a disservice to your guinea pigs' options, in my opinion. Frustratingly, they are being rehomed because their own children have lost interest.

One guinea pig is a long haired black sow named "Belle," the other is a white and brown short hair named "Ruby." They are bonded and should be adopted together. They enjoy being handfed. They come with their wooden hut which Belle in particular likes to hide in. They also come with their cage, water bottles, food bowls, and container with food.

LISTING REMOVED North Hills (Pittsburgh), PA: Two recently adopted guinea pigs being rehomed due to allergy. WARNING: if you find out these guinea pigs were adopted from a shelter or rescue, they are contractually obligated to be returned to the organization, as opposed to being rehomed independently. Disregard if they were adopted, say, off of CL. One is a neutered boar with medium length fur, six months old, and a three month old short hair female. They are both tri-colored and must be adopted together. They come with a 2x4 cage with loft, fleece bedding, hay, food dishes, water bottle, toys, food guide, and other accessories for a rehoming fee. Again, if you learn these guinea pigs are from a rescue or shelter, please notify that rescue or shelter.

LISTING REMOVED Philadelphia, PA: Two guinea pig girls need to be rehomed due to change in lifestyle (move to dorm). Both girls are about five months old and come with a C&C cage, as well as "whatever supply of hay and pellets necessary to start them off." The first guinea, "Guinnie," is very energetic, multicolored, and has a crest. Veronica/Ronnie is more laidback and a little chubby. They are both very beautiful and typical guinea pigs in that they can be timid at first with strangers. The poster would prefer the girls to find an experienced guinea owner, and a happy forever home. It seems as though he or she is going to screen to find a suitable caretaker for these lovely girls. Contact the poster through the CL mailer for more information. For other people who find themselves in a similar situation, here is a helpful application to use to help screen respondents.
