LISTING REMOVED Pine Plains (Hudson Valley), NY: Pine Plains Veterinary recently received five baby guinea pigs which they cannot keep. Five baby guinea pigs were found in a paper bag in a shopping cart in a parking lot. The babies are estimated to be between 6-8 weeks old (PREGNANCY WATCH-boys are sexually fertile at 21 days, girls are sexually fertile at 28 days Boy or Girl?). Some have short hair, some have curly hair (texels?). Phone number for vet is (518) 398-9494.

LISTING REMOVED Fairport (Rochester), NY: Two year old guinea pig, sex not specified ( Boy or Girl?) being rehomed due to kids losing interest. "The pig is extremely friendly and loves attention." Comes with too small cage (try Cheaper, Larger Cages ), water bottle, food, bedding, and two items on the NO LIST: exercise ball (can break fragile bones in the feet and spine) and the harness (shouldn't be marketed toward guinea pigs, it terrifies them as prey animals).

* AAGP recommends quarantining any new guinea pigs
for 2-3 weeks and confirming the sex yourself.
Many sad accidents or "accidents" can be avoided this way. *
