NY/NJ/PA-Rescued piggie girl needs a home

I'm always willing to do courtesy postings for reputable rescuers and shelters. Here's one for a beautiful girl who was rescued off of Craigslist. I'm in love with her myself, so much so that I'm making her my MISS NEEDS A HOME PIGGIE 2007:

"This beautiful girly was advertized on craigslist as 'fr33 to a good home, but with no cage because she is living with my rabbit'. This owner evidently didn't know that people who regard guinea pigs as pet food don't really want the cages, and that 'fr33' invites both sn@ke owners and those who aren't interested in investing anything in a pet. Luckily, a rescue person in the NYC area learned about her here and snatched her up. She's still timid but coming out of her shell enough to demand veggies and pose for glamour shots. She does zoomies around her temporary little pet store cage. We estimate her age at 6 months. We can arrange a rendezvous anywhere in the Tri-State area or farther south in NJ, around Philadelphia."

NJ-Have-A-Heart Guinea Pig Rescue

Due to increased time commitments, I am no longer going to be able to update past entries of some of the larger rescues such as Have-A-Heart and NJGPHR. Once a week or so I will update the herd of the respective rescues.

Have-A-Heart Guinea Pig Rescue has four more NJ piggie listings!

Santa and Claus are two bonded boars who were just born on Dec. 1st of this year, in the rescue. they are both black, blonde, and white Americans. They are used to being around dogs. They're only two days though, they can't be used to much yet!

Cheech, Bonus, Pardo and Gizzy are four young boys who were abandoned in front of a police station--that's despicable. They have to be adopted in pairs. Cheech and Bonus are rust and white Americans, and Pardo (these are such great names!) is a rust American, while Gizzy is a rust peruvian.

Treetop, Holly, and Mistletoe were surrendered to a local animal shelter when their owner no longer wanted them. They're not available for adoption until the end of January, as they're on pregnancy watch. Treetop is a gray and white abby, Holly is a rust and white American mix, and Mistletoe is a black and white America (ooh!). They're a year and a half old or so.

Poinsettia was also abandoned in front of a police station in a box. She's on pregnancy watch until the end of January. She is a cute rust and white American. Poinsettia gets along well with other piggies, so she either has to be adopted with another sow or a neutered boar, or to a home which has piggies already.

PA-Judge's Park-new piggie girl

Judge's Park, in Edinburg, PA, has a new pig available for adoption from the horrific MA hoarder situation. Just as a reminder, this was 150 guinea pigs living in a shed, br33ding and dying all in incredibly inadequate conditions. Judge's Park is one of the rescues that jumped to aid the shelter where these pigs were surrendered (hint hint, there's donation info on their website!).

Introducing ADOPTED! Shadow, a pretty young American sow. When Shadow first arrived at the rescue, she was covered in lice--a hard circumstance both for Shadow and the people who had to see her in such pain. She has now completed her quarantine and is mite and lice fr33. Because of her early upbringing she can be a bit skittish, but I imagine this could be overcome with careful love in a forever home. She does like to be held and is surprisingly calm.

An interesting factoid about Shadow is that she is one of those rare pigs that would work as an only piggie. As her bio points out, this means she will be more bonded with whoever adopts her!

PA-Montgomery County SPCA-Buddy Boar

LISTING REMOVED. No picture up yet, but Montgomery County SPCA has a new boar! His name is Buddy, and he is a two year old black and white piggy. Any long term reader will know this means I am bound to fall in love with him.

POST EXPIRED. Astoria, NY: I really feel for this poster. She bought two pigs from the petstore, they turned out to be a male and a female, the female turned out to be pregnant and died in childbirth. Thought she had two males-the father and the baby. Now two weeks ago the male pig gave birth to two pigs. Poster is getting more than she bargained for and now needs a new home for the father, named Baby Dumpling. He is six months old and a nibbler, so not ideal for a home with small children. Email the poster with your phone number and she will call you.
