PA-Humane Society of Harrisburg Area-East Shore-Two Pigs

Humane Society of Harrisburg Area-East Shore; Harrisburg, PA: GiGi and Unsexed Pig!

GiGi is an adorable small adult female guinea pig. Look at that gorgeous crest! She wants a home so badly, you can see it in her eyes.

This beautiful unsexed pig is just such a winner. She or he is so cute! Here's a good link for determining his or her sex: Boy or Girl?. This piggy should never be br3d, (though AAGP does not endorse the intentional br33ding of any guinea pig) because of the roaning in its fur, which means he or she could produce a lethal pig.

* AAGP recommends quarantining any new guinea pigs
for 2-3 weeks and confirming the sex yourself.
Many sad accidents or "accidents" can be avoided this way. *

Jessie is a small young female being housed in the ARL's rabbit room. GUINEA PIG LESSON: Guinea pigs and rabbits should never be housed together because the rabbit's legs have a powerful kick that can easily injure the pig, and they are also commonly carriers of bordatella and pasteurella, which is very serious when contracted by guinea pigs.

NJ-Friends of Homeless Animals-Trio, 2 single males, female

Friends of Homeless Animals of Northern New Jersey; Hawthorne, NJ: Othello, Tabitha, Cosmo, and Lassie, Louise, and Daggot.

This rescue prefers guinea pig experience in their adopters. Contact for more information.

Othello is a gorgeous long haired abby who currently prefers to live by himself, though that may change as he ages. He is presently listed as "Young" on Petfinder.

Tabitha is a "very sweet little girl" who wants to be adopted either to a home with a guinea pig already or with one of her friends from the rescue.

Cosmo is an orange/white Abby/American mix, with a white mohawk of hair on his head. He is a year old, and has a strong personality. He is one of those rare pigs who could live by himself (or maybe with a spayed female?)

Louise is a young american guinea pig, primarily white in color with some other colors on her face and rear. She is paired with Lassie and Daggot.

Lassie is an orange and white American pig who came to the rescue from the shelter. She is a bit skittish but should improve with time. She is paired with Louise and Daggot.

And here's the lucky guy with two girlfriends, Daggot. He's a neutered one and a half year old teddy.

These pigs are a happy four years old. Romeo is an abby pig, and Daphne is white with brown. They are well bonded and have been with each other for at least three years. They love veggies and have been fed on a great diet so far. Keep it up: Proper Diet!

or go with a friend. Google the phone number of the poster to
ensure it matches the name he or she gives *

Aston (Philadelphia), PA
: Two friendly bonded males being rehomed and housed on TOXIC CEDAR BEDDING. See appropriate Bedding. Peanut is the lighter pig, and is calmer, extremely friendly, and is very well socialized. Popeye is the darker pig, is just as friendly, but a bit more active.

York, PA: Two six month old girls being rehomed due to owner having a baby. Come with cage, bedding, food, toys. Owner willing to transport to Southern PA, Northern MD and within reason.

Hatboro (Philadelphia), PA: Two 1.5 y.o sisters being rehomed due to children losing interest. Calico colored, one is an abby, the other has "silky short hair." Though they are a bit skittish due to not being held much, they do not bite. They are "very sweet" when they are held.

LISTING REMOVED Pittsburgh (South Hills), PA: Two female guinea pigs being rehomed due to move. Come with cage, house, water bottle, food bowl, wooden chew toys, food (pellets and alfalfa) and any left over bedding. "Very sweet and vocal," enjoy floor time. Very bonded, must be adopted together.

Elizabeth (Pittsburgh), PA: 8 month old female shorthair guinea pig being rehomed due to lack of attention. Comes with DANGEROUS CAGE-wire floored cages cause bumblefoot, water bottle, food, bedding, other accessories. Also vitamin drops (don't put these in the water, that's a guinea pig myth-they're not water soluble so they stop working after about five minutes and then the water just tastes bad. Reduced water consumption leads to a host of other problems. And what will a non-Cavy Savvy Vet often diagnose and then prescribe? Scurvy, and vitamin C drops!

Philadelphia, PA
: Bonded males Peanut and Cocoa being rehomed due to owner transitioning to college.

*If responding to an ad by an individual, meet in a public place
or go with a friend. Google the phone number of the poster to
ensure it matches the name he or she gives *

Farmingville (Long Island), NY: Tan/white guinea pig (Boy or Girl? ), 8 months old, comes with cage, water bottle, food dish, and some toys. Must be picked up by the 24th or poster is taking the pig back to the petstore. GUINEA PIG LESSON: Never take a guinea pig back to a petstore for rehoming; they do no screening (just whoever can pay for the pig) and will often give returned guinea pigs away for free to anyone who wants them. Sn@ke owners are aware of which stores that do this; major chains are among them.

Watertown, NY: Guinea pig (Boy or Girl?)being rehomed due to too many pets and child losing interest.

Albany, NY: Three year old male guinea pig, "a huge lover, he cuddles and is very well behaved." Being rehomed due to other pets (kittens) being too interested in him. Comes with cage, water bottle and food dish.

LISTING REMOVED Staten Island, NY: 1 y.o. guinea pig comes with cage, food, toys, "very handsome and lots of fun." Guessing male? Named Cashis/Cash. Being rehomed due to move. Wants to find an adopter with guinea pig experience.

Massapequa Park (Long Island), NY: 1o month old friendly male guinea pig (mainly brown, some white) being rehomed due to son losing interest and mom no longer wanting to care for him. Comes with "everything you need." I would recommend at the very least Cheaper, Better Cages.

Suffolk (Long Island), NY: Three female guinea pigs being rehomed due to owner losing her job. Adopter must provide food and bedding. Come with cages, water bottle, and other accessories. 2 y.o. guinea pig by herself (Guinea Pigs need a friend! Social Interaction ), and two bonded females (3 y.o. and 1.5 y.o. ) being rehomed together.

Corning (Elmira), NY: 1 y.o. unsexed guinea pig (Boy or Girl?) being rehomed due to son losing interest after rescuing guinea pig "from horrible conditions." Guinea pig is friendly, quiet, with short calico hair. Adopter with guinea pig experience preferred. Comes with food, Timothy hay, treats, cage, water bottle, and pine bedding (make sure it's kiln dried).

Syracuse, NY: 1.5 y.o. male guinea pig being rehomed due to lack of time, needs help being socialized to people. Poster would prefer him to go to a rescue. Guinea pigs can be socialized pretty easily to a caring individual who has patience and time. Registering with GuineaLynx and posting on the forums for help is a good way to get tips. Comes with cage, litter (hopefully Bedding), and food.
