NY-Life Long Tails-5 boars

Life Long Tails is an awesome no-kill rescue which serves the small animals of Western New York, and those who wish to adopt them.

These guinea pigs aren't adoptable yet (the others are), so that gives you 1-2 months to prep a guinea palace for these deserving boars. LISTING REMOVED. Michael and Myers were abandoned in a box outside the rescue's door. They were filthy, their nails were long, and they are currently being treated for lice. They have been given their med checks and are on a steady path toward being healthy and adoptable.

ADOPTED! Dash is a skittish sweetie, who would do well in a quiet home. He is a lap-guinea (they're great), but would like caring and patient people to adopt him, and continue helping him to learn trust people.

ADOPTED! Nickle is a sweet young boar (under a year old). His other half is brown; he's so handsome! He was abandoned in an apartment for a week before he was found. That's terrible. He is now an outgoing, energetic character. He is very curious and personable.

ADOPTED! Blaze is a handsome young boar, small in size. His owners were moving and couldn't take him with them -- the rare situations where this is actually necessary must be very difficult for all involved. Though a timid guinea, he is slowly opening up to people. He is a very sweet guinea who likes to be pet while in a lap.

POST DELETED. Nobody puts Baby in the corner, er, shelter. This beautiful Troy, New York piggie is being rehomed because the poster does not have enough time for her. She comes with her cage, shampoo (try this), water bottle, bag of bedding, 1/2 bag food, hay, yogurt drops (never give these to your guinea pig), salt lick (never give these to your guinea pig), and carrot treat (suitability depends on what this means).

PA/NJ/NY/WV-Craigslist Warning

WARNING if you decide to get a guinea pig from Craigslist, or respond to any ad on Craigslist, meet the poster in a public place, not on their own turf. In Minnesota a woman was murdered when responding to a Craigslist ad for a babysitter: link.

PA-Montgomery County SPCA-Conshohocken

LISTING REMOVED. Piglet is a sweetie girl at Montgomery County SPCA - Conshohocken. She's featured on PetHarbor and her ID is A157655. She's a beautiful nine month old abby!

NY-Craigslist, bonded boars

LISTING EXPIRED. Buffalo, NY-two boars being dumped. Zippity and Doodah are happy pigs that are a result of a surprise petstore pregnancy-this is a major reason not to buy from petstores. The animals are often sick, missexed, and/or pregnant. And of course, a petstore purchase = a shelter death. They're about four months old and aren't really handled by the poster-poor guys! How could someone have guinea pigs in their house and arms and a chest to clutch them to, and not hold them?

PA-Piggie Lovers Inc. Guinea Pig Rescue

Piggie Lovers Inc. Guinea Pig Rescue has a bunch of guinea pigs available for adoption!

Oh wow, look at these beautiful girls. Not everyone can pull off pink. ADOPTED! Pumpkin and Autumn are young sows, just four months old. They are a vocal bonded pair that loves attention and being held. I love their names; they're so fitting. Pumpkin apparently has a white patch on her belly -- awww!

ADOPTED! Patches is a chubby, lovely sow. She loves piggies and people, and needs to live with at least one other girlie. Patches is a curious, inquisitive cavy who's looking for a forever home. She was surrendered to the rescue because her old people didn't have enough room for two guineas. Maybe they lived in Geico's Tiny House.

ADOPTED! Johnny and Jerry Lee are a bonded father and son pair. I do not see any family resemblance whatsoever, so let's assume Jerry Lee took after his mom. Now Johnny, on the right, has what I'm going to call a super crest. I've never seen anything like that before! It's an amazing mohawk-maybe he's a Native American piggie. He is described as very vocal, friendly, and he loves to be held. Johnny is one year old, and Jerry Lee is 7-8 months. Jerry Lee also loves to be held, and will give the guinea chatter when frightened. Just wait till you have five guinea pigs doing it at once because you sneezed! It sounds like some dentist's nightmare.

ADOPTED! Rosie and Jackie are two bonded cuties who are about one year old. Rosie (on the left) is more people friendly, but Jackie (on the right) has to be in the lap before she settles. I can't imagine leaving these beautiful sweet girls behind. Someone please adopt them and give Rosie a nose rub for me! That mug is begging for it.

NY-Lollypop Farm in Fairport

More faceless members of the Lollypop Guild. I'll make a new post if pictures are posted. But c'mon, they're guinea pigs-how could they not be wonderful?

LISTING REMOVED. Horatio is our bachelor number one. He is white, three years old and two months, which I marked as a senior, but this is really more middle aged with good care. Horatio is the baby boomer of guinea pigs.

POST REMOVED. Snow White might have been better off named after one of the dwarves. This white boar is one year old and one month. Renamed Prince Charming.

LISTING REMOVED. Ricky Bobby is a six month old brown boar. I had to google Ricky Bobby to try and think of a quip. I haven't seen Talledega Nights (though I do have Anchorman memorized), but this MySpace quote made me happy: "you rule ricky bobby, im getting your movie for Christmas...best movie right beside highlander you rock ricky bobby."

NJ-Hug-A-Bunny Rabbit Rescue, Inc.

First off, congratulations Hug-A-Bunny Rabbit Rescue on your 70th adoption! 70 lives saved because of your work, that's incredible. They are a volunteer organization always in need of foster homes. And they have some short eared rabbits -- so short they're guinea pigs.

ADOPTED! Crash is a handsome guy and a sweetie pie. He and his brother, ADOPTED! Milo, posted below, don't get along, so they would either have to be adopted or be housed separately. He and his brother are both one year and one month old.
They love being pet, but aren't crazy about being held. They also can be a bit nippy if they think any part of you is a carrot. Sounds like they're a good match for a guinea experienced home sans children.

PA-Craigslist-young sow

* If responding to a Craigslist ad meet in a public place, or

to ensure it matches the name he or she gives *

This lady comes from the "People who don't spell 'guinea' correctly so their ads don't show up when I search" files.

POST EXPIRED. Pittsburgh-10 month old sow being rehomed because poster is moving to college-I tell you, that's one reason to go to a state school. She has long black and brown hair-Peruvian? Comes with cage, water bottle, treats, litter, and vitamins. Vitamins plural? Vitamin C is the only vitamin they need supplemented. "C is for Cavy, it's what they really need." Very people friendly, pictures available upon request.

Also comes with harness and leash so you can walk her. Do me a favor-check to see if the poster doesn't realize she actually has a puppy. If it is in fact a guinea pig, please make some modern art on our country's treatment of animals out of the leash and harness. Thanks.
