PA-Montgomery County SPCA-senior boar

LISTING REMOVED. There's no picture up yet, but the Montgomery County SPCA, Conshohocken Facility, has a new guinea pig. On PetHarbor his ID is A158196. His name is George, and he is a black tri-color guinea pig. Another great way to celebrate Adopt A Senior Pet month!

it matches the name he or she gives *

POST EXPIRED. This is really sad. In Mount Laurel, NJ, someone is dumping their five year old guinea pig for fr33 on Craigslist. All they say about their guinea pig is that he's gray and white, quiet and healthy. The guinea pig comes with a cage that should probably be tossed, bedding, food, and an exercise ball (never give these to your guinea pig).

Adopting this boar would be an amazing way to honor Adopt A Senior Pet month.

LISTING EXPIRED. Babies in Jersey City being rehomed. I keep wavering back and forth as to whether this is a legitimate dump, or one of those people who makes guinea pigs in order to dump them. What I'm saying is, research before you respond to this one. And if it seems fishy, adopt from a shelter or rescue and save a life. Small adoption fee for adorable long-haired babies the poster can't keep. That's all it says, inquire at your own risk, then report back!

NY-Craigslist-two sows, one boar

LISTING REMOVED. Big Apple has Small Heart Today--another three guinea pigs being dumped (for fr33) in Bloomington. Black and white female (Widget), calico colored long hair (Bridgette), black neutered male (Mr. Squeakers). Widget and Bridgette are just over two years old, Mr. Squeakers is just under two years. Come with large homemade cage (a C&C perhaps?), litter box, water bottle, large food bowl, pigloo, and waffle block house. They are bonded and socialized quite well to people, as well as healthy and kind. Being rehomed because owners had a baby; no longer have time for the cavies. Sadulations to the guineas.

POST DELETED. Three sows in East Aurora NY (near Buffalo): being rehomed due to cross country move. They need to be adopted by the end of November. They are 3 months old, 5 months old, and one year old. Small adoption fee applies. Cages rehomed separately.

POST EXPIRED. Oswego, NY (near Syracuse): two beautiful sows being rehomed. Small adoption fee includes cage, bedding, food, and wooden chews (research to see if they're safe; wood from fruit trees generally isn't). Ideally these two year old sows will be adopted together. They are friendly, love attention, and are cuddlers. They sound perfect! And they're easy on the eyes too.

NY-Two Rescues-Multiple Guinea Pigs

The two rescues I'm posting don't have individual guinea pigs listed, but apparently do have guinea pigs in their care.

Wing and a Prayer Dog Rescue and Referral, Inc. has a number of LISTING REMOVED. guinea pigs available for adoption. The post says the guinea pigs are young. This rescue is in Albany.

Crazy Horse Stables Rescue and Sanctuary in Castleton, NY also has a bunch of guinea pigs. The post says they have guinea pigs of all ages, sizes, and colors.

If anyone has more information about the guinea pigs available with these rescues, please post in the comments section, or email adoptaguineapig @ gmail.com

PA-Furry Friends Guinea Pig Rescue

Time for a full post on the charismatic, attractive, and charming guineas of Furry Friends Guinea Pig Rescue. I've adopted from them myself, as any good woman should. This rescue is run by an awesome lady. It's a home based rescue in Wallingford, PA. They're always in need of donations, both material and financial, so check out the site if you'd like to help but can't adopt.

Now in my last post on this rescue, I posted ADOPTED! Sophie, ADOPTED! Davy, and ADOPTED! Lola. Time for a new featured three!

If you're only able to provide a home for one guinea pig, but have always been hesitant as guinea pigs are social creatures, ADOPTED! Sally is a great guinea pig for you. She's one of those rare Emily Dickinson piggies who wants to be by herself. She is a real sweetheart with people though. She's two years old and came to the rescue from a shelter. Spoil this only child rotten!

ADOPTED! Cookie the Cutie is large adult sow who is bonded with ADOPTED! Bow the Boar (neutered). I think that's his face peeking out in the photo. Cookie is three and half years old, and therefore qualifies as a senior (though again, that's like giving an IHOP discount to a 40 year old. Guinea pigs can live to nine years). Celebrate November by adopting her and Bow! They were surrendered by a family who could no longer care for them. How hard for the guineas to think they found love, then be abandoned. Cookie has been a mother before, and she has a long line of fur down her back, giving her a mohawk. So cute!

ADOPTED! Gretchen is a beautiful rust colored gal. I would think she might be part teddy, but I don't have much experience with that br33d. I think Gretchen might be the mother of ADOPTED! Ginny, but that's just a guess from the photos. Gretchen is young herself, and of medium build. Contact the rescue for more info on this cavy.
