NJ-North Jersey and Have-A-Heart Rescue-Spotlight!

I'd like to spotlight pigs from two large, wonderfully reputed New Jersey rescues. They have many more pigs than those I'm about to feature, so please if you are in New Jersey and looking for a guinea pig, or looking to become more involved in guinea pig care, contact them! They both have guinea pigs of all ages, breeds, and both sexes.

North Jersey Guinea Pig and Hamster Rescue
; Budd Lake, New Jersey: Giovanni!

North Jersey saved Giovanni from euthanization, and now he's been living the high life and is ready for a home! He is a two year old extra large Peruvian boy with a rooster tail. Look at the boy--he wants you to love him!

See the rest of Giovanni's friends here at North Jersey's complete pet list.

Have-A-Heart Guinea Pig Rescue has around 200 pigs in foster homes in PA, DE, and NJ.

Phil and Buddy are two bonded large adult males who have been with the rescue since December. They were surrendered because of allergies, but were much loved by their previous owner. They are used to cats, dogs, and kids. Phil is on the left and is three years old, and Buddy is on the right and is 2.5 years old. They're in Pemberton, NJ.

See the rest of Have-A-Heart's pigs at their complete small and furry pet list.

NJ-Friends of Homeless Animals-Trio, 2 single males, female

Friends of Homeless Animals of Northern New Jersey; Hawthorne, NJ: Othello, Tabitha, Cosmo, and Lassie, Louise, and Daggot.

This rescue prefers guinea pig experience in their adopters. Contact for more information.

Othello is a gorgeous long haired abby who currently prefers to live by himself, though that may change as he ages. He is presently listed as "Young" on Petfinder.

Tabitha is a "very sweet little girl" who wants to be adopted either to a home with a guinea pig already or with one of her friends from the rescue.

Cosmo is an orange/white Abby/American mix, with a white mohawk of hair on his head. He is a year old, and has a strong personality. He is one of those rare pigs who could live by himself (or maybe with a spayed female?)

Louise is a young american guinea pig, primarily white in color with some other colors on her face and rear. She is paired with Lassie and Daggot.

Lassie is an orange and white American pig who came to the rescue from the shelter. She is a bit skittish but should improve with time. She is paired with Louise and Daggot.

And here's the lucky guy with two girlfriends, Daggot. He's a neutered one and a half year old teddy.

NY-URGENT-NEED ADOPTERS/FOSTERERS/ DONATIONS=FINANCIAL and MATERIAL

R E S C U E C R I S I S
can you help??

Over 50 guinea pigs were dumped by a br33der at a local Cheektowaga/ Buffalo business. One female is nursing, seven are pregnant. Life Long Tails is caring for the mom and moms-to-be, but they don't have room for the rest, they are operating with limited resources. The business is only able to house the rest of the guinea pigs for a short period of time.

If the guinea pigs can't find homes they have to go to a kill shelter
.

Contact information for Life Long Tails at this page: here.

DONATION INFORMATION here.
Even five dollars will make a huge difference. Life Long Tails funds the vet bills of their fosterers, so if they are able to find foster homes for 50 guinea pigs coming from a crisis situation, they will really need help.

UPDATE: one of the adoptable piggies! ADOPTED! Sebastian is a small adult male, who is nervous and skittish coming from the crisis case. He needs some serious loving and spoiling!

And so does Link!

So does Banjo! Look at his white beard and toupee--he's a wonderful pig.

Doodle does too!

And special needs Monty.

Don't forget Mitch!

PA-Animal Care and Welfare Inc.-Two boars, one young, one adult, not bonded

Animal Care and Welfare Inc.; Pittsburgh, PA: Smith and Wesson!

Smith and Wesson are being rehomed because their owner is moving. They can be adopted together or separately as they are not bonded. Say "No Tanks!" to the offer of the 40 gallon tank for their housing--this leads to poor air circulation and a toxic environment. Instead why not try Cheaper, Larger Cages?

Smith has no picture and is an adult. Update:

Wesson is the gorgeous pig pictured below, and he is described in his bio as young.
