PA/NJ-Have-A-Heart Guinea Pig Rescue-Hundreds of pigs

Have-A-Heart Guinea Pig Rescue, PA/NJ/DE: Many guinea pigs!

I'll level with you. Since returning to AAGP, I have been spending less time on the blogs, and much less time on updating old links to say when a guinea pig has been adopted or a listing has been removed. It's really hard to keep up with all the pigs of H-a-H, as they have so many tremendously wonderful guinea pigs, so I'm going to have to throw in the towel with updating their old links. Instead every week or so I'll just do a new status update of who is where. Hope that works out for everyone. And sorry for you Delaware folk, but once they cross that state line, they're out of my jurisdiction.

Jersey Girl and Boy # Bubbles and Teddy #

NY-Massena Humane Society-young long haired pig

Massena Humane Society, NY: LISTING REMOVED. Romeo! His bio has no picture, but he is described as a eight month old beautiful and very friendly long haired guinea pig.

eta:

NY-Life Long Tails-Young Female

Life Long Tails, NY: ADOPTED! Gracie!

Gracie is an absolutely beautiful girl guinea who is a year to a year and half old. She is a quick mover who was surrendered due to allergies. She wishes to be adopted with Lona (who I imagine will be posted shortly). By the by, her eyes aren't actually red, that's just the flash on the rescue's camera.

NY-A New Leash on Life-Bonded senior? young? males

A New Leash on Life, NY: ADOPTED! Milo and Biscuits!

Two very bonded boys who need you to fill their bowl and get them in a larger cage! They are described in their bio as the very "best of buddies." What confuses me as they're listed under the Petfinder categories as "adults," but it says they're five years old. Maybe they mean five months? Because five years is solidly senior. I'm putting them down as both senior and young. Including this note from their bio: "When writing about one of our pets, please include your location as we do have distance restrictions and they vary depending on the pet's needs."

NJ-Bergen County Animal Shelter-Adult Male

Bergen County Animal Shelter, NJ: WITH A RESCUE! Kirri!

Kirri Boy:

Let me quote the bio: "Kirri was turned in because the family's ferret wasn't getting along with him. He seems friendly." THE HELL? You mean the ferret wasn't trying to EAT HIM? If this guinea pig is friendly after an attempted bonding with a ferret and then being dumped in a shelter, I'd say you have a winner and a keeper. Rescue this boy and give him a forever home.

NY-Lollypop Farm in Fairport-two young boars

Lollypop Farm in Fairport, NY: LISTINGS REMOVED. renamed "Satch" ID#4247417 and renamed "Flash" ID#4247421!

Not much info here, piggy boy ID ending in 17 is a one year old male primarily white in color. Piggy boy ID ending in 21 is a seven month old tricolor male primarily brown in color. Good luck boys! I hope you get better names once you're adopted!

NY-Life Long Tails-three guinea pigs

Life Long Tails, NY: ADOPTED! Abby, ADOPTED! April, and LISTING REMOVED May!

Note: none of the below animals have red eyes, it's just because of the flash.

Abby:

Abby is two to two and a half, and is nice and gentle. She loves her hay, fruits and veggies. Poor girl is being rehomed because her owner developed allergies.

April:

April is four years old and very beautiful. She has a very sweet temperament and loves to eat. April is bonded with May, and they would like to be adopted together. She was surrendered to the rescue because of allergies.

May:

May is a senior piggy who is quite healthy, active, and robust. She loves to eat, something she shares in common with April, the piggie girl she hopes to be adopted with. She is five years old and is looking for a real forever home.

LISTING REMOVED Pittsburgh, PA: Absolutely beautiful white crested guinea pig with possible mismarked himi markings available for adoption, sex and age not specified. Comes with a cage, water bottle, and "everything you need to get started." I bet a bunch of stuff you need to get started mistreating your pet and not a lot of the stuff that is actually necessary for proper guinea pig care. Research on a site like GuineaLynx for what is actually proper Guinea Pig treatment.

PA-Piggie Lovers Inc. Guinea Pig Rescue-Belated Post

Piggie Lovers Inc. Guinea Pig Rescue, PA: Lots o' pigs! This rescue is based in Latrobe, PA. They have a number of adoptions taking place this week, so their herd will have changed possibly even by the time I press post! If you fall in love with one of their piggies, don't hesitate to contact them and check on his or her status. This rescue is run by some devoted ladies (who could also teach graphic design--check out their website, it's Keen) who also sell C&C cages and their own hay.

Now, as for their herd, I'm going to list it in its entirety here, and then feature two of the piggies not yet mentioned on this blog below. Readers with full houses beware!

ADOPTED! Edgar & Telouis * ADOPTED! Hamlet & Rothbart * ADOPTED! Hercules & Zeus * ADOPTED! Chester & Milton * ADOPTED! Madame Mim * ADOPTED! Eleanor * ADOPTED! Cronus * ADOPTED! Hades * ADOPTED! Templeton & Ludo * Rex * Ash * Roxy & Ivy * ADOPTED! Dumbledore *

Roxy and Ivy have awesome names, for starters. They sound like they're in a girl band. They're mother and daughter. Roxy is mom and on the right (1y9m--2y) and Ivy is the daughter, born January 1st of 2007. Ivy inherited Roxy's chubby good looks, and they are both sweethearts. Roxy is a laid back girl who is all for cuddling, and will even give you kisses if she likes you. Ivy is a bit skittish at first, but calms down for cuddling once in the lap. They love hiding, but, like most guineas, veggie time puts a stop to that!

Brevity for the sake of sanity.

LISTING REMOVED Owego, NY: 4-H project. (4-Heaven's Sake project). One month American sow, six month teddy sow, six month American male. Socialized to people and very child friendly. Small adoption fee.

BR33DER LINK REMOVED: Five pigs need rehoming, two females and three males. Being rehomed due to allergies. One pig has just one eye. Sounds like an odd situation, they're being bottle-fed? Guinea pigs can take Critical Care or pedialyte (or veggies) if their mothers have rejected them, which is what has happened here. They're very sweet. Come with cages and accessories.

LISTING REMOVED. Suffolk County, NY: Brown and white boar less than a year old being rehomed. Cause--children lost interest, the guinea pig is described as "very good but needs to go to a home where he will get the attention he needs."

LISTING REMOVED. Westchester, NY: One year old boar being rehomed due to conflict between to fighting boars. Hopefully this isn't a matter of just a too small cage. Boar is described as "docile and very cute."

LISTING REMOVED Rochester, NY: Two male guinea pigs that need to be rehomed due to moving. Atlas and Bear are both approximately one and a half years old and "extremely friendly." They are bonded and so must be adopted as a pair. They are adorable!

LISTING REMOVED. Manhattan, NY: Very handsome and striking guinea pig named Ank, poster describes him as "nice" and "friendly." He is recovering well from two abscess surgeries and will soon be off antibiotics. Being rehomed due to relocation. Doesn't sound like the best time for it. Poor boy!
