NY-Hi-Tor Animal Care Center-young boar

I know two things about Hi-Tor Animal Care Center in Rockland County, New York. The first is that their volunteers and staff deeply care about the animals there. The second is that their shelter is over flowing. The animals at this shelter are in desperate need of adoption. Here is the face of one of the animals you could save.

ADOPTED! Henry has stolen my heart. He looks so sweet and gentle in this photo. Henry is nine months old, meaning he is likely out of that prickly adolescence. His family dropped him off at the shelter because they didn't have time for him. Poor Henry--animals experience such rejection throughout their lives. Henry will need a bit of socialization toward people, but he'll likely get a lot of that at the shelter. They have a Pet Buddies program where they take adoptable pets to nursing homes, etc. Adopt this boy and you will save a life--if not his, the guinea pig who is able to take his place.
